A colorful sunset view from Pier 32 Marina in National City. Pier 32 is located on San Diego Bay, at the mouth of Sweetwater Channel, 6 miles south of downtown San Diego.
I scouted this location about two weeks ago and found this composition compelling because of the "V" shape formation of the dock. Unfortunately, that particular evening there were no clouds in the sky and the sunset was non-existent. When I scouted the weather report yesterday and knew we were in for a nice sunset, I got into my car and raced down to the marina. I made it in time to make this photograph.
