Description
This plaza is unique for a couple of reasons. One, it is pretty quiet for Latin America standards because cars are banned (no honking horns). Two, it features the largest cathedral in Peru. Three, in that cathedral is the largest organ in South America.
The city center of Arequipa, Peru is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is composed of baroque buildings derived from white volcanic sillar stone, giving Arequipa the nickname 'Ciudad Blanca' (White City). To add to the mystique of the city, it is surrounded by three impressive volcanoes (El Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu).
